Home exercise program software

Every product in this category sells library size. Nobody has ever failed a home programme because the library was too small — they failed it because the sheet had eleven exercises on it.

Our pick

A short printed sheet

Four movements, band colour and word, sets, reps, hold and an effort target, printed and handed over in the room. It costs nothing, it goes on the fridge, and it is what the evidence on adherence keeps pointing at.

Runner-up

Medbridge

A large video library with patient-facing delivery, at USD $325/yr each as listed for the individual plans as listed. Worth it if video demonstration genuinely changes your patients' execution — test that before you assume it.

What you are actually buying

FeatureWorth paying for when
Video demonstrationYour patients genuinely execute better after watching — worth testing on ten patients before assuming
Patient app with remindersYour population uses apps. Older cohorts often do not, and the reminder becomes a notification nobody reads
Adherence trackingYou will act on the data. Tracking you never open is a subscription, not a feature
Large exercise libraryRarely. Most clinicians prescribe from a personal set of about forty movements
Branded handoutNice, and not a clinical variable

Published price

Medbridge lists its individual practitioner plans at USD $325/yr each as listed (individual practitioner plans; organisation pricing is quoted separately), read from https://www.medbridge.com/pricing on 2026-09-04. Organisation pricing is quoted separately, which is the pattern across the category — the published number is the individual one and the clinic number is a conversation.

Price it per patient, not per year

A subscription divided by the number of patients who actually receive a programme through it is the honest unit. For a part-time caseload that number is often larger than anyone expects, and it is the calculation vendors never put on the pricing page.

The variable that actually moves outcomes

Length. Four exercises at fifteen minutes gets done; ten at forty-five gets abandoned in week two and then reported as “most days”. No software fixes a programme that is too long, and several make it easier to build one, because adding an exercise is one click.

The best home programme is the one the patient can finish before they change their mind.

The second variable is specificity: band tension named in words as well as colour, a hold time, and an effort target the patient can self-regulate against — see the Borg scale. Our own programme builder prints exactly that on one page, and it costs nothing.

A buying checklist

Four questions

How many of my patients will really open an app? Can I print a clean one-page sheet without the branding taking half of it? Does the export carry sets, reps, hold and load, or just pictures? And what does this cost per patient who actually receives a programme?
