RehabSheet is an independent reference site published by Everlight Press. This page explains what the site is for, where its figures come from, how they are re-checked, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Who publishes RehabSheet

Everlight Press publishes RehabSheet. To reach us, use the contact page; every message sent from it is read.

What the site is, and what it is not

RehabSheet is a practical reference for people who run, bill for and document care in chiropractic and physical therapy clinics: CPT and Medicare billing rules, documentation templates, range-of-motion norms, outcome-measure scoring and pay data.

Not clinical advice

Nothing on RehabSheet is a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a substitute for examination by a licensed clinician. Norms and outcome-measure cut-offs are population references, not instructions for an individual patient. Billing content describes what the rules generally say; your payer contract decides what is actually paid.

Where the figures come from

We use primary sources only: the body that sets the rule or publishes the data, not a summary of it elsewhere. The kinds of source the site relies on:

  • Medicare billing and coding: the CMS manuals (Pub. 100-02, the Benefit Policy Manual, and Pub. 100-04, the Claims Processing Manual), CMS transmittals, the Physician Fee Schedule relative value files, and the NCCI policy manual and edit tables.
  • CPT codes: the American Medical Association owns CPT. Code descriptors here are paraphrased, never reproduced.
  • Outcome measures: the paper that developed each measure and the scoring instructions published by the group that maintains it, such as the Institute for Work & Health for the DASH and QuickDASH.
  • Range-of-motion norms: the AAOS reference values as reproduced in Norkin and White's goniometry text, and the CDC-funded Normal Joint Range of Motion Study.
  • Pay and job outlook: the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook.
  • Education and credentials: the accrediting and certifying bodies themselves (CAPTE, ACOTE, the Board of Certification) and the APTA.
  • Software prices and features: the vendor's own pricing and product pages.

A page that uses an outside figure lists its sources at the foot, each linked to the source itself (a printed reference book is named instead), with the date it was read. When published sources disagree, as range-of-motion norms do by several degrees at some joints, the page says so rather than picking one quietly.

How figures are kept current

Each outside figure is stored once in the site’s code with its source and the date it was read. Figures shared across pages live in one place, so two pages cannot show different numbers for the same thing. A figure is re-checked by reading the source again; when it has changed, the value is updated in that one place and the date beside the source moves with it. We do not promise a fixed schedule; the read date tells you how fresh each figure is.

How pages are written

Drafts are written with AI writing tools and edited before publishing. Before a page goes live, a second pass checks every figure, rule and product claim against the source it cites; the source list at the foot of the page is what that check used. The publisher is responsible for everything on the site, whatever tool helped write it.

How the tools work

The calculators and builders follow the rule or scoring method they cite. The billing units calculator applies the CMS method for counting timed minutes in 15-minute units; the outcome-measure calculators follow the published scoring instructions for each measure. Everything you type stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or stored, and we would still rather you did not enter patient information.

Corrections

If a figure looks wrong or out of date, write to us through the contact page and name the page and the figure. We check it against the source. If it is wrong, we fix it and update the date shown with it: a guide’s reviewed date, or the read date beside the source we re-checked.
